Senior Piping Material Engineer

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer piping material solutions with a strong focus on safety, reliability, sustainability, and long-term asset performance.
• Select appropriate engineering methods, specifications, materials, and procedures in line with project requirements.
• Optimize technical designs in compliance with international codes, company standards, and industry regulations.
• Prepare, plan, and deliver engineering activities and technical deliverables within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Ensure proper management of technical interfaces between disciplines, systems, packages, and project scopes.
• Deliver assigned scope of work in accordance with contractual obligations and internal quality standards.
• Apply lessons learned and assess the impact of technical changes across project boundaries.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, fabricators, and third-party stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support or lead package engineering activities including design, procurement, manufacturing, and technical follow-up.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers within the assigned scope.
• Act as Discipline Lead for specific scopes when required.
• Support concept development, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and site execution phases.
• Review material selection, corrosion considerations, piping classes, datasheets, and technical specifications.
• Contribute to risk reduction, operability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance of piping systems.

Requirements

• Engineering diploma in a relevant technical discipline.
• 5 to 10 years of experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong experience in piping materials engineering within EPC or project-based environments.
• Experience with engineering design and calculation tools relevant to piping material scope.
• Experience in concept development and detailed engineering phases.
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and multidisciplinary project execution.
• Experience with package engineering, including manufacturing coordination and technical follow-up.
• Familiarity with subcontracting processes and coordination with suppliers and vendors.
• Site engineering experience is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to structure technical information and make sound engineering decisions.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to manage deliverables within deadlines and budget constraints.
• Ability to work in complex project environments with multiple stakeholders and technical interfaces.
