Project Engineer Civil

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• As a Civil Project Engineer, you will work independently on various technical projects.
• You’ll be responsible for the technical aspects, budgeting, and scheduling within your area of expertise, both during the preparation and execution phases.
• You will be the specialist for civil concrete and steel structures within the project team.
• From the conceptual phase to the actual construction, you’ll be involved in renovation and new-build projects, including study, design, specification, tendering, and construction supervision.
• Thanks to your expertise and insight, you’ll be able to provide tailored advice for various projects.
• You will play a role in identifying technical innovations and improvements in civil engineering.
• In addition, you’ll analyze solutions, benchmark against competitors, and contribute to changes that ensure maximum reliability and efficiency of our facilities.
• Your focus:
  • Defining program requirements within your area of expertise and documenting them;
  • Providing technical input for project and investment proposals for the plants;
  • Outsourcing design and drafting work, preparing technical specifications, and evaluating contractor proposals;
  • Reviewing technical designs and calculations, coordinating contractors during execution, including acceptance and aftercare.

Requirements

• A completed higher professional (HBO) degree in Civil Engineering or a related field;
• Experience as a Project Engineer or a willingness to further develop in this role;
• Broad knowledge of civil engineering;
• Strong structural skills to assess designs and calculations;
• A team player with excellent communication skills, strong organizational talent, and a proactive, critical attitude;
• Able to build support for your ideas.
