Process Engineer (Pragmatic with process knowledge)

Responsibilities

• Process Engineer (Pragmatic with process knowledge)
• The software supplier has built an installation, but many process questions have arisen. The existing installation does not align with the software that has been written. Questions arise regarding the necessity of removing certain pumps from the software.
• The project has been on hold for 2 years, with no project archive available.
• The aim is to upgrade the automation of the entire plant, including powder storage, distribution, and mixers.
• Although the software is ready, it does not align with the installation (approximately 100 sensors/instruments expected in the software are missing from the plant).
• There are no up-to-date P&IDs or functional descriptions available.
• The proposed approach is to start the installation step-by-step, unit by unit, aligning the software, installation, functional descriptions, and P&IDs at each step.
• Duration of Assignment: 3 months
• Start Date: ASAP
• Extension Possible?: Expectations are that the project will be completed within 3 months.

Requirements

• You are based with in Netherlands;
• Being able to work pragmatically
• Being able to analyze process problems quickly
• Communication skills are crucial, especially because the team on the Ammerzoden side is limited. The hiring manager is a good link, but the mechanics have a different background than project management. It is important to be able to consult well with stakeholders, including operations and maintenance, and to regularly act as a linchpin for consultationWe need someone with extensive commissioning/start-up experience in control systems.
• Someone who shows a lot of initiative
• The candidate should play a key role in decision-making for all issues encountered during commissioning/startup, with:
  • Understanding of powder installations, including large storage tanks for powders.
  • Knowledge of powder storage and distribution is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the local team (operations, maintenance).
  • Process engineering know-how and the ability to use a risk matrix to assess issues, noting the complexity of safety and control systems.
• Strong project management skills are essential:
  • Meeting the due date for system operation is critical for business risk.
  • Change management skills are also required.
