Implement HSE procedures and standards in compliance with applicable laws, Health and Safety Documentation, and the Environmental Management Manual.
Ensure continuous collaboration and support with HSE colleagues during both the preparation phase (through verification and approval of Method Statements/Job Safety Analyses) and the execution of works.
Verify that subcontractors work safely and in accordance with approved Method Statements/Job Safety Analyses.
Ensure that all necessary work permits are obtained before starting any activity and that the conditions of these permits are met.
Evaluate the work scope, area conditions, and conduct specific equipment inspections prior to starting field activities. Communicate hazards and control measures to subcontractor field supervisors.
Be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping in the assigned area and promptly inform the Safety Supervisor of any unsafe work procedures.
Take proactive steps to correct unsafe acts, behaviors, and conditions.
Ensure that subcontractors’ field supervisors/foremen are training their teams according to project safety requirements, and that all personnel are actively involved in the project’s safety program.
Participate in subcontractor toolbox talks and monitor crew attendance.
Report unsafe acts, behaviors, and conditions to Construction Supervision and Subcontractor management.
Participate in and assist with incident investigations.
Coordinate with other discipline supervisors/superintendents in the area to manage activities and avoid interferences.
Organize activities for yourself and any assigned supervisors in close collaboration with the Construction Manager. Keep records of activities to ensure continuity, especially in the event of absence.
Ensure that materials used in construction comply with project technical documents, applicable codes, and specifications, and ensure that stock levels are sufficient to meet the work schedule.
Monitor the productivity of subcontractors with regard to both quality and quantity (jointly with Project Control).
Ensure that all assigned activities are completed on time. In case of delays, report deficiencies to the Construction Manager to define and implement corrective actions.
Discuss modifications or differences in activities with the Construction Manager and Field Project Engineer. Work with them to issue Sketches Layout (SKL) for any necessary modifications.
Propose improvements observed during work execution and support the Field Project Engineer in responding to subcontractor queries.
Record approved modifications and, in cooperation with the Construction Manager, inform the Subcontract Administrator of any contractual changes.
Prepare and submit a Request for Work Execution (R.W.E.) form for extra work or field modifications not included in the contract, for further approval by relevant functions, prior to execution.
Ensure that subcontractors are working from the most up-to-date drawings and technical documents (jointly with Construction QC Inspector).
Verify the quantity of subcontractor manpower on site using the "Manpower presence report" (jointly with Subcontracting Management).
Review, sign, and collect subcontractor time sheets when the work is reimbursed on an hourly basis.
Prepare and check subcontractor monthly/weekly work progress and submit relevant data to Project Control.
Maintain a daily log record book.
Ensure that no work stoppages occur due to lack of engineering documents, materials, or access to work areas (jointly with Project Control and Field Engineer).
Prepare and issue subcontractor Construction and Final Punch Lists and follow up on completion of outstanding works.
Verify subcontractor field surveying, establish reference benchmarks for elevation and alignment, and check proper execution as per the scope of work.
Ensure that subcontractors follow the provisions of the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and that inspections are carried out in a timely manner, according to project procedures.
Collaborate with QC Inspector colleagues during inspections.
Identify non-conformities according to the Quality Assurance System Procedure and suggest appropriate corrective actions.
