Responsibilities

As a Turnaround Mechanical Supervisor (Static), you are responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all static mechanical activities during major turnarounds. You will lead field execution related to static equipment—ensuring that all work is performed in line with scope, schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
  • Supervise and coordinate all static mechanical activities in the field during turnaround execution.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations, site policies, and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Lead daily toolbox talks and enforce safety standards among own teams and contractors.
  • Monitor daily progress against turnaround schedules and support on-time delivery of mechanical work packages.
  • Coordinate with planning, QA/QC, scaffolding, lifting, insulation, and materials teams to resolve issues and prevent delays.
  • Interpret and review technical documentation such as P&IDs, GA drawings, and equipment specifications.
  • Oversee mechanical activities including opening/closing of equipment, internal inspections, cleaning, reassembly, torquing, and pressure testing.
  • Track manpower, equipment utilization, and material flow; escalate delays or risks as needed.
  • Maintain detailed field records and contribute to progress tracking and mechanical completion reporting.
  • Support punch list resolution and drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma or equivalent experience in mechanical/static equipment supervision.
  • Previous turnaround experience in heavy industry, petrochemical, oil & gas, or related sectors.
  • Solid knowledge of static equipment and field execution practices, including industry standards and testing protocols.
  • Proven ability to manage contractor teams effectively under tight turnaround timelines.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic, high-risk environments with strict safety and compliance requirements.
  • Experience reading and interpreting P&IDs, mechanical layouts, and vendor documentation.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar systems for work tracking is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and digital reporting tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • EU citizenship is required due to legal and project-specific requirements.
