Senior Welding Engineer

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer technical solutions with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and sustainability.
• Take responsibility for selecting engineering methods, procedures, and technical execution within project specifications.
• Optimize designs in compliance with international codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver engineering activities within agreed timelines and budgets.
• Manage and monitor technical interfaces between disciplines, systems, and project scopes.
• Ensure all deliverables meet contractual requirements and internal quality standards.
• Apply lessons learned and assess the impact of changes across project system boundaries.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and third-party stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Take ownership of design, procurement, and manufacturing activities for assigned technical packages.
• Act as Discipline Lead for specific project scopes when required.
• Contribute to long-term international EPC projects within the energy sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
• Approximately 5 to 10 years of relevant experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Significant experience in EPC project environments is essential.
• Proven experience working on multidisciplinary engineering projects with complex scopes.
• Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and regulations.
• Experience managing stakeholders such as vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
• Offshore or vessel project experience is considered a strong advantage.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead technical teams.
• Considered a plus: 
• IWE, IWT, or equivalent welding engineering qualification.
• CSWIP Welding Inspector 3.1 / 3.2, AWS CWI, or equivalent inspection certification.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, ISO 9606, ISO 15614, and ISO 3834.
• Experience with WPS, PQR/WPQR, welder qualifications, and fabrication QA/QC processes.
• Knowledge of AMPP (formerly NACE) standards/certifications related to corrosion and coatings.
• Familiarity with MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service materials selection.
• Experience with NDT techniques such as RT, UT, MT, PT, PAUT, and TOFD.
• Offshore fabrication yard, FPSO, topsides, vessel, or marine construction experience.
