Senior Structural Topsides Engineer

As an Engineer in Offshore & Shipbuilding, you play a crucial role in creating safe, sustainable and efficient projects on or offshore. From shipbuilding to floating offshore platforms.

Responsibilities

• The Structural Topsides discipline consists of Structural Topside engineers and designers. The Structural Topsides discipline provides Structural Engineering to the Group Product Lines, which contains studies, proposals, technology development, Pre-FEED projects, FEED projects and EPCI projects.
• The structural topsides team will be responsible to provide design calculations, 3D modelling, construction drawings and MTO’s for offshore structures.
• Currently we are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to reinforce the Structural Topsides discipline.
• In your role of Senior Structural Engineer, you are responsible for making sound structural design of offshore topsides structures, such as FPSO modules, helidecks, flare towers and hull integrations.
• You are expected to provide your expertise in performing structural analysis, developing tools and standards, and supporting your colleagues in structural calculations and designs.
• You may be assigned as Engineer Lead in a project. In this role, you are responsible to lead a team of engineers for engineering scopes and construction supports.
• This role may require a long term (about one year) assignment in India office.
• You may also be assigned as Site Structural Topsides Engineer in EPC projects.
• This role requires a long term (about one year) assignment in Singapore or China.
• You will be interfacing with clients, project management, other disciplines, procurement, construction, classification bureau's and subcontractors.

Requirements

• STAR is looking for candidates who have an MSc or BSc degree or equivalent (i.e. Professional Certification) in Mechanical, Civil, Offshore, Naval or Aerospace Engineering with the specialization in structural analysis of offshore topside structures.
• You have approximately 8 years’ experience in the structural offshore engineering.
• Furthermore you have:
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good initiative, creative thinking.
  • Good experience and sound technical knowledge of structural analysis of topside structures in conceptual, basic, detailed design and construction phase.
  • Experience in Engineering & Design of topside facilities of floating production units for the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of structural interfaces with related disciplines, i.e. piping, topside integrations and other equipment integrations.
  • Familiar with rules of classification societies, knowledge and experience with structural design software, like GeniE.
  • Professional communication in English (verbal and written).
