The Senior Project Manager has the overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a major expansion project in both the FEED and EPCM phases.
The Senior Project Manager, therefore, must have the full package of project management skills, including the people skills to build a strong team, and also be able to ask intrusive questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts.
Provide strategic direction to the project team, according to best project management practices in a petro-chemical industry setting. She/he has a strong focus on delivering according to the project targets.
Identify, recommend and implement capital effectiveness best practices, e.g. front end loading, team alignment, target setting, project controls, rate of change, value improving practices, leading technology, constructability, planning for startup.
Safeguard the delivery of technically high quality engineering & design output, based on best industry practices.
Lead the project team, provide mentorship, coaching and development. Also, she/he has strong communication skills to align with other stakeholders in the organization.
Work with and manage engineering firms across all engineering disciplines and promote an integrated project team philosophy.
Be the single point of authority & accountability towards the execution of the project and reports to the Manager Projects and a project Steering Committee.

Requirements
At least 20 years’ experience in main processing industries (oil & gas, chemicals, power).
At least 10 years’ experience as Project Manager in major capex projects.
Strong brown field experience, project execution and commissioning.
Master’s degree in engineering/science (civil, mechanical, chemistry, electrical) or equivalent through experience.
Large experience with project execution of 25 – 75 million euros capex projects, with large brown field scope.
Experience working within an EPCm contractor as Project Manager and as Engineering Manager;
Managing multi-discipline engineering teams,
Managing the overall EPCm process (including project controls).
Large experience with managing FEED / BDEP phases of major capex projects.
Strong communications, leadership and teambuilder.
Self-starter, result oriented (via managing through people), stress resistant, flexible.
Capability to build and maintain the project management team from internal and external resources.
