PMC Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineer – Biofuels Projects

Responsibilities

• Project is in search of CSA (Civil/Structural/Architectural) engineer to work within client (owners) engineering team for FEED (FEL 3). 
• Reporting to Lead CSA Engineer, position will provide technical direction and oversight of E&P contractor, ensuring safe design and cost-effective application of standards.
• The role will also entail seeking input from operation and site projects team from the refineries.
• Responsibilities:
• Maintain a solid understanding of all relevant codes, standards, and regulations that pertain to the design of field Civil/Structural/Architectural included on the facility.
• Consult CSA Engineering P&O Project TAs(Technical Authorities) on technical issues and ensures TAs remains aligned with proposed designs.
• Provide technical feedback to risk assessments, Management of Change reviews, and project evaluations.
• Evaluate requests for deviations or exemptions to the established specifications and standards.
• Assurance of EPC Contractor key results in terms of quality and compliance with BoD or BoL
• Ensuring application of agreed codes and Standards. Assuring compliance with the relevant Project specifications and ETPs as per engineering verification plan.
• Oversight of performance of engineering contractor against agreed scope, staff and schedule for discipline scope.
• Setting technical direction to the contractor such as through delivery of key bp CSA deliverables.
• Ensuring a robust, end-to-end CSA engineering design across the ISBL and OSBL scopes for each site.
• Leading on the sharing and implementation of CSA engineering findings between the projects and from the wider organisation

Requirements

• Over 10 years of proven international experience in discipline-specific engineering roles across Europe.
• Experience in FEED or Detail design stage of the project.
• Experience of working on a program of projects or complex mega projects.
• Extensive experience in EPC environment as well as in PMC role for major projects exceeding (above 1 billion USD) demonstrating robust technical expertise, commercial acumen and project management skills.
• Adept at identifying and proposing discipline optimization opportunities to enhance project efficiency and value delivery.
• Comprehensive experience in validation and checking of CSA engineering activities including:
  • Structural analysis and design in Staad Pro,
  • Civil design and detailing of concrete foundations.
  • Tank foundation design,
  • Development of building functional requirements
  • MTO’s and estimate preparations.
  • Manhour estimate and progress/productivity.
• Experience of CSA specification, procurement, & installation.
• Experience in brownfield modification of Civil/Structural infrastructures (piperacks, platforms etc.). 
• Pragmatic decision maker, willing to challenge and ensure engineering value is delivered.
• Experience in refining, chemical or O&G industries.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the project team, Contractors, and engineering leadership.
• Knowledge of following discipline related international standards:
  • Eurocodes (EN 1990 – EN 1999)
  • Eurocode National Annexed (Netherlands and/or Spain)
  • ACI, AISC, ASCE (American Standards )
  • ASCE 41088  Design of Blast Resistant Buildings in Petrochemical Facilities.
  • ISO 14001: Environmental Management in Construction
  • ISO 21930 Sustainability in Building Construction
  • OSHA standards; Construction safety guidelines
