Responsibilities

  • The Pipeline Integrity & Corrosion engineer’s prime function is to monitor and address pipeline integrity and corrosion risks on all onshore operated pipelines and process pipework on the Bergermeer Gas Storage and PGI facilities.
  • In addition, the job holder will manage and optimize maintenance contracts for pipelines and advise on special inspection requirements such as intelligent pigging, cathodic protection, etc. This function is part of the maintenance organization.
  • Responsible for the pipeline management system (PIMS) 
  • Conduct fit for purpose analysis based on inspection findings as appropriate 
  • Provide active guidance and support to the field operating personnel and be responsible for day-to-day pipeline issues such as pigging requirements 
  • Pipeline engineering input during design of projects 
  • Provide support and advise to pipeline calamities, incl. insurance recovery plans 
  • To perform these tasks, the job holder makes use of engineering contractors, interfaces with manufacturers, and has close contact with operations, process and other networks within the company as well as in industry networks / associations and works within the HSE policy 
  • Monitor and optimize pipeline corrosion strategy and management 
  • Liaise with relevant authorities and regulatory bodies 
  • Develops and maintains appropriate asset KPI’s and scorecards to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of pipeline and process pipework integrity performance 
  • Makes regular site visits to liaise with operations and maintenance and vendor activities 
  • Takes a lead role in the tendering and selection process relating to the award of relevant services and engineering contracts and works closely with 3rd party teams to ensure the effective delivery of services and contract compliance 
  • Provide input to Maximo maintenance routines (PM’s) for pipeline, corrosion and/or pipework maintenance and/or inspections 
  • Define, prepare, implement and monitor specific pipeline integrity and corrosion related KPI’s
  • Acts as Technical Authority for pipelines and corrosion management and responsible for the relevant performance standards.

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical and/or pipeline Engineering and considerable experience with Oil & Gas pipeline design, operation and maintenance.
  • In this role you'll require both Dutch and English language skills.

  • Familiar with pipeline risk assessment and risk management 
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with all sorts of pipeline inspection techniques 
  • Even if you do not see yourself reflected in all the skills required, we still encourage you to apply. Research has shown that not everyone applies if they do not feel 100% qualified. 
  • Familiar and experience with relevant onshore legislative requirements
  • Knowledge of Bevb, NTA8000, NEN3650 and other relevant Dutch legislation on pipeline management 
  • Thorough understanding of on- and/or offshore oil and gas production operations 
  • Experience with specifying pipeline inspections such as intelligent pigging etc
  • Experience with specifying pipeline inspections such as intelligent pigging etc. 
  • Excellent knowledge of office applications such as Word, Excel. 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Pro-active attitude
  • Living in the Netherlands
