Responsibilities

As an Operating Engineer, you will enable the operation of our new 700MW offshore converter stations. You will manage preventive and corrective maintenance, address operational issues, and lead improvement projects for mechanical rotating and associated systems. Your work will ensure operational readiness as we take over new project assets, ensuring all operational requirements are met. You will work independently, handle both systemic and ad-hoc issues, and take the lead on small projects. For larger projects, you will act as a Senior User, ensuring successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Set the technical direction for operations and maintenance; Act as a member of the Grid Connection System (GCS) management steering team, sharing responsibility for GCS availability, budget, risk, and quality; Manage a portfolio of small projects, prioritizing work based on risk and financial considerations; Identify design defects and manage warranties with key vendors; Lead design efforts and oversee project execution; Ensure routine monitoring and fault management, coordinating technical support; Manage the timely completion of maintenance activities for platform and cable systems; Incorporate operational requirements into maintenance engineering and organizational planning; Develop and maintain effective maintenance plans, job cards, and work orders; Take budget responsibility for cyclic maintenance, repairs, and investments; Manage and evaluate service contracts with key vendors, including tender processes and negotiations.

Requirements

  • You hold a BSc or MSc degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience in offshore platforms or a related field. This a must;
  • You have expertise in the design, installation, and operation of HVAC systems and mechanical auxiliary systems. This is a must;
  • You have knowledge and experience with at least 5 years of offshore engineering, regulations (e.g., DNV), and architectural/civil aspects of offshore platforms. This is also a must;
  • You have experience with middle and low voltage equipment, including motors and instruments
  • You have experience with auxiliary systems like UPS, fire alarms, and oil/water separation systems is advantageous;
  • You have proficiency with maintenance management systems like SAP;
  • You have ctrong leadership, communication, and project management skills;
  • You have proficiency in English (Dutch is a plus) and a valid driver’s license;
  • Location: Arnhem, with some offshore deployments which is a few times a year.
