MSAT Scientist Mass Spectrometry

Responsibilities

• You develop, optimize, execute, and/or transfer liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LC-MS) methods.
• You act as the expert for analytical HPLC and mass spectrometry techniques.
• You integrate LC-MS characterization data with process and product knowledge.
• You take full end-to-end responsibility for analytical methods, from development and optimization to execution, data reporting, and documentation.
• You bring experience with common analytical workflows such as peptide mapping and released glycan analysis (a plus).
• You identify opportunities to improve existing methods by introducing new technologies, increasing robustness, and reducing release cycle times.
• You provide investigational support for product and process issues, including generating scientific and technical study protocols and reports.
• You assess the impact of significant deviations in analytical methods or the production process, offering technical and scientific expertise.
• You support analytical activities related to product characterization, method transfer, and process improvements for late-stage, next-generation, or commercial products.

Requirements

• PhD or Master’s degree in Life Sciences with mass spectrometry experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in LC-MS method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience working in a GMP environment and knowledge of biologics manufacturing and testing.
• Experience with large molecule LC-MS data interpretation is a plus
• Strong understanding of chromatography and mass spectrometry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Quality-focused, accurate, and detail-oriented.
• Flexible, fast learner, and able to adapt to shifting priorities.
• Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate and find compromises across departments and sites.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
