Material Engineer Piping Design

Responsibilities

 

• Understanding / Proficient in Piping design deliverables like:

• - Plot Lay-outs (Equipment Lay-outs)

• - Piping Lay-outs

• - Piping Elevation Drawings

• - Support Location Lay-outs

• - Isometrics

• - Piping Studies

• - Lay-Out studies (Tender projects)

 

• Understanding and checking Other Discipline Input Documents:

• - P&ID's

• - PFD's

• - Linelist

• - Pipe Specs

• - Equipment Lists

• - Instruments Lists

 

• Main activities are:

• - Assesment of the Client requirements, applicable standards and regulations

• - Attending Internal / external Progress and or Project meetings

• - Preparing, updating and maintaining Detailed Piping Specifications in SPM, based on Project Pipe Specs

• - Preparing, checking and comparing Piping MTO's from E3D

• - Preparing Bulk MTO's during several stages of the Project (Tender, Basic, Detailed Design)

• - Checking of Isometrics for Materials

• - Calculating, Monitoring hour budgets, planning and quality of the own project activities

• - Supervising, Choacing and checking the work of (Junior) Designers

• - Identifies and asses and communicates DCN's to the project Scope with the Piping Lead Designer

• - Provide input and coordinate with other disciplines (MDR, planning, process, mechanical, weight control, etc)

• - Provide and report Progress and Status Control of Design For Piping Lead Designer)

• - Executes relevant (Digital and manual) filing of project documents

• - Coordination with the other Disciplines

• - Review the Vendors documentation

• - Checking drawings, with particular emphasis on interfaces with other Disciplines

• - Checking Designs for operational requirements

• - Awareness of and working according the Procedures of Quality Management Sytems, Information security and Health and Safety Procedures

• - Assesment of the As Built and As Is, if available, documentation

• - Performing Site Visits and Field measurements and As Built checks

• - Determine reusability of the existing systems and Tie-In locations

• - Supervising and assiting Laser Scanning

• - Preparation  / Providing Support As required of:

• 1. Spec building for E3D Modelling

• 2. MTO's for Different project phases)

• 3. Material checking Isometrics

• 4. Piping Studies

Requirements

• Finished MBO Education

• Relevant Job orientated Courses / Education

• Worked for a fabrication/production/engineering company for at least 7-10 years

• Experienced in greenfield basic & detailed design 

• Experienced with offshore (O&G)  platform design

• Experienced with offshore HV substations design

• Experienced in Brownfield basic & detailed design activities

 

• Knowledge and experience of Material Management Systems (e.g. SPM)  / ERP Systems

• Knowledge and experience of relavant Piping Codes and Standards (ASME, ASTM, API, DIN-EN, NORSOK etc.)
