As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • As Junior Project Engineer, you will lead, drive and report to our Project steer group on the following complex items.
  • Work closely with the external PR consultant, managing stakeholders
  • Engaging senior staff at the right time/ moment towards stakeholders
  • Ensuring permit deliverables are progressing on time
  • Following through on the PPA strategy & power-profile together with specialist consultant
  • Managing the execution of the sourcing strategy, participating in commercial and legal discussions resulting from the various bids
  • Being point of contact towards wind park developers shaping the relationship and commercials
  • Support the commercial and legal development of the concession with Port of Antwerp
  • Support the commercial and legal development of suite of contracts (5) with Vopak on, amongst others, land fees, tank storage and methanol handling
  • Support the development and updates of the integrated workstream schedule towards FID: maintain and update timelines through interaction with the Vioneo team/ all workstreams
  • Hands-on office management support, coordinating tasks & admin of the Antwerp office

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical background)
  • Initial experience (internship or 1–3 years) in petrochemical, energy, or industrial projects is a strong asset
  • Understanding of permitting and regulatory requirements in large industrial/petrochemical projects
  • Familiarity with PPAs and their role in integrated energy projects (e.g., for power-to-methanol plants)
  • Exposure to contract negotiation and development (e.g., for land use, tank storage, utilities)
  • Experience or strong affinity with schedule tracking and cross-functional coordination
  • Understanding of key petrochemical project phases: feasibility, FEED, EPC, commissioning
  • MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent)
  • Basic knowledge of document control and project reporting systems
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
