Junior Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance engineering activities focused on improving reliability, availability, and performance of mechanical assets in an industrial environment.
• Develop and optimize preventive and corrective maintenance strategies for rotating and static equipment.
• Create, maintain, and update equipment master data, maintenance plans, task lists, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in SAP PM.
• Contribute to SAP implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of maintenance processes and asset data structures.
• Support data migration, validation, and cleansing activities within SAP or other CMMS systems.
• Analyze maintenance performance data and identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Support planned maintenance activities, outages, and maintenance campaigns.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and external contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and well-coordinated execution of work.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, maintenance procedures, and reports.
• Contribute to reliability engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 0–3 years of experience in maintenance engineering, asset management, or industrial maintenance environments.
• Affinity with maintenance processes in industrial, energy, or process environments.
• Basic understanding of maintenance engineering principles (preventive, predictive, corrective maintenance).
• Experience with SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) or participation in SAP implementation projects is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance workflows.
• Understanding of rotating and static equipment is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Good communication skills in English; Dutch is considered a big advantage.
• Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and develop within maintenance engineering and digital asset management.
