Electrical Engineer

As an Engineer in Offshore & Shipbuilding, you play a crucial role in creating safe, sustainable and efficient projects on or offshore. From shipbuilding to floating offshore platforms.

Responsibilities

• As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering detailed electrical engineering for offshore greenfield projects, with a strong focus on low-voltage power distribution systems.
• You will develop high-quality engineering deliverables, perform system studies, prepare technical specifications, and support procurement, testing, and project execution.
• Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will ensure all designs meet project requirements, international standards, and industry best practices.
• Develop detailed electrical engineering designs for offshore greenfield projects.
• Design and engineer Low Voltage (LV) power distribution systems, while supporting Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) power distribution systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and perform Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for electrical equipment.
• Participate in and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for MCCs, LV switchgear, UPS systems, and LV distribution boards.
• Perform and review Electrical System Studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and selectivity studies.
• Prepare detailed engineering deliverables, including:
  • Cable lists
  • LV distribution block diagrams
  • Small power, lighting, and earthing layouts
  • Termination diagrams
  • Installation typical hook-ups
  • Mounting typical drawings
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including Instrumentation, Mechanical, Structural, and Process Engineering.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable international codes and standards.
• Provide technical support during procurement, manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (BSc/MSc) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience working for an engineering company.
• At least 4 years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer.
• Proven experience in detailed engineering of Low Voltage power distribution systems for offshore greenfield projects.
• Experience with offshore platform design.
• Experience in High Voltage (HV) substation design.
• Experience preparing technical specifications, Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), and attending Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for:
  • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
  • LV Switchgear
  • UPS Systems
  • LV Distribution Boards
• Experience performing Electrical System Studies and protection coordination studies.
• Good understanding of MV and HV power distribution systems.
• Strong knowledge of LV distribution equipment and systems.
• Proficient in preparing detailed electrical engineering deliverables.
• Familiar with ETAP, E3D, and SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI).
• Good knowledge of international engineering codes and standards, including IEC, ANSI, IEEE, ISO, NFPA, NEMA, and API.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
