Facility / Project Engineer

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• This is Contract Services work engagement, 6 month assignment with likelihood of extension.
• The successful candidate’s mission is to maximize the value of company assets by providing technical and project management support for the development and operation of gas facilities.
• The successful candidate’s main goal will be to ensure the safe, efficient and economical planning and execution of facilities, pipeline and asset integrity projects.
• In pursuit of this goal, the candidate will incorporate considerations for asset reliability, on-line performance, and overall lifespan while ensuring that risks are identified and dealt with in a proactive manner.
• Project Engineering and Project Management for the development of gas production facilities in Netherlands, including: Project Scoping, Engineering Design Control, Cost Estimating, Regulatory Approvals, Development of Construction/Execution plans, Equipment and Services Procurement, Schedule and Budget Control, Commissioning and Startup Support
• Actively participating in and promoting HSE initiatives
• Participating in and contributing to the planning of exploitation and operational development activity to ensure technically appropriate design and cost information for facility components.
• Acting as a Project Manager on brownfield and greenfield projects (well connections, gas facilities upgrades/construction and similar)
• Systematic approach to planning, executing, and evaluating complex projects (critical thinking, data analysis and problem-solving skills)
• Implementing and applying PM principles and VEN procedures
• Organizing and participating in Design reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS, model reviews etc.)
• Arranging on-site meetings and collaboration with other project stakeholders (Operations, Maintenance, HSE)
• Applying internal MOC (Management of Change) process on facilities upgrades, modification, reconstruction or maintenance issues
• Developing and maintaining good relations with Vendors, Contractors and Suppliers
• Development of facility requirements for capital budget programs
• Ensuring appropriate resource and competence levels are provided to deliver safe, efficient and effective projects.

Requirements

• 10+ years relevant industry experience, with emphasis on project management of oil and gas facilities projects
• Understanding of HSE and Asset Integrity Management System structures
• Efficient and precise communication as the position requires interaction with team members, service companies and regulatory agencies
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and critical analysis skills
• Strong team player with the ability to build relationships and work constructively with others to achieve business goals
• Oil & gas Process/Chemical Engineering background preferred
• Experience with emissions projects and regulations in oil & gas industry
• HBO+ work and thinking level, education HTS or University or Industrial engineer, or equivalent level obtained through experience
• B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Engineering field
• VCA / VOL exam (preferable)
