Lead site introductions and contractor onboarding to communicate site-specific safety expectations, access controls and emergency procedures.
Issue and manage work permits, including hot work, confined space and electrical permits, ensuring permit conditions are met before work starts.
Coordinate contractor follow up activities to verify corrective actions, close observations, and maintain contractor performance records.
Develop, maintain and exercise the Emergency response plan with contractors and internal stakeholders; coordinate drills and evaluate outcomes.
Manage chemical exposure risks by reviewing safety data sheets, required controls, PPE, and work methods for contractor tasks involving hazardous substances.
Oversee waste handling management for contractor-generated waste streams, ensuring segregation, labeling, temporary storage and safe removal in line with regulations.
Lead Bas-U meetings and act as Bas-U backup responsibilities to ensure continuity of safety leadership, agenda management and follow-through on actions.
Identify and mitigate electrical management risks by reviewing lockout/tagout procedures, electrical permits, and contractor qualifications for live work.
Lead safety walks and site inspections with contractors and operations teams, documenting findings and tracking corrective actions.
Capture and update health and safety statistics, compiling contractor performance metrics, incident reports and trends to inform targeted interventions.

Required:
Proven experience in contractor safety coordination, site safety supervision, or a related health & safety role.
Experience issuing and managing work permits and conducting site inductions for contractors.
Practical knowledge of chemical exposure management, waste handling management and emergency response planning.
Ability to lead safety walks, BAS-U backup activities and BAS-U meetings, and to follow up on contractor actions.
Competence in identifying electrical management risks and enforcing lockout/tagout and safe isolation procedures.
Strong record-keeping skills and experience updating health and safety statistics, incident logging and performance dashboards.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach contractors and build collaborative relationships.
Nice to have:
Certifications in occupational safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent) or relevant trade qualifications.
Experience with APD plan development and implementation or similar project-specific risk plans.
Familiarity with environmental regulations related to waste handling and hazardous materials on industrial sites.
First responder or emergency coordinator training and practical drill facilitation experience.
