The role is key in ensuring that all automation-related aspects within studies and capital projects are delivered in line with internal standards, safety requirements, and cost-efficiency targets.
The position is based in Stenungsund and involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and external EPCM contractors, from feasibility studies through execution and commissioning phases.
Act as the technical lead within the automation discipline for ongoing studies and execution projects.
Represent the client in interactions with EPCM contractors and vendors, ensuring quality, compliance, and optimized technical solutions.
Evaluate and challenge technical proposals and designs from a safety, time, cost, and quality perspective.
Review and approve automation engineering documentation throughout all project phases.
Ensure the implementation of applicable engineering standards, project procedures, and client-specific requirements.
Coordinate with other discipline leads and support functions to secure integrated project delivery.
Provide technical input to change evaluations and scope clarifications during the project lifecycle.
Participate in technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Support the maintenance and development of internal engineering documentation and specifications related to automation systems.
Monitor project progress and ensure timely execution of discipline-related deliverables.
Requirements
Degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical field.
Solid experience from capital projects or brownfield modifications within the industrial/process sector.
Strong understanding of automation systems, project engineering, and engineering quality control.
Experience working with or overseeing EPCM contractors or external engineering partners.
Structured, self-driven, and confident in technical decision-making.
Excellent communication skills in English (Swedish is advantageous).
Preferred Experience:
Acting as a client representative or lead engineer in complex automation or multidisciplinary projects.
Familiarity with Swedish industrial standards and engineering regulations.
Ability to work cross-functionally and coordinate with multiple stakeholders in an international setting.
