Responsibilities

  • Review and provide feedback on subcontractor welding and NDT procedures, qualifications, and documentation, including welder and NDT operator lists, welding consumables management, piping and structural steel certificates, material traceability procedures, Welding Summary List, and Welding Traceability Reports.
  • Conduct witness inspections, perform surveillance checks, and continuously assess the performance of welding and NDT subcontractors.
  • Ensure all inspection activities are accurately documented in the appropriate records.
  • Verify the quality of work in compliance with the CQCP, approved ITPs, procedures, and applicable standards within assigned areas.
  • Monitor subcontractors' QC resources to ensure the achievement of quality standards and compliance with the agreed resource ratio.
  • Provide status updates and trend reports as requested by site management, including recommendations to improve welding and NDT activities.
  • Document deficiencies or incomplete work as punch items, working closely with the supervisor/superintendent to ensure timely resolution.
  • Identify and document quality deficiencies from subcontractors and suppliers, initiating the non-conformance process as required.
  • Verify that materials used comply with project technical specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Assist the QC/turnover team in collecting and organizing relevant quality control records.
  • Implement HSE procedures and standards in alignment with applicable laws, Health and Safety Documentation, and the Environmental Management Manual.
  • Proactively identify and report unsafe acts, behaviors, and conditions, ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel.

Requirements

  • Senior-level professional as a QC Welding & NDT Inspector
  • Possess current international certifications, in compliance with IIW, PCN, or CSWIP standards.
  • Hold a current II-level NDT qualification in accordance with ISO 9712.
  • Be fully knowledgeable and experienced with EN standards and ASME (B31.3) code requirements, with a strong background in welding engineering (e.g. completion of multiple-day courses from internationally recognized institutes).
  • Previous experience with the application of EN 1090 (structural steel) and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) for piping is preferred.
