Prepare and develop Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Weld Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR) to meet project requirements and industry codes.
Oversee and maintain inspection records for all welded assemblies, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
Ensure welding processes and procedures comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, EN, ISO).
Collaborate with the QA/QC team to ensure proper inspection, testing, and certification of welds.
Provide technical guidance to the welding team, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and specifications.
Monitor welding processes, conduct audits, and identify areas for process improvement to enhance quality and efficiency.
Support project teams by addressing welding-related challenges and providing expert advice on materials, techniques, and procedures.
Stay current with welding technologies, codes, and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Proven experience (5+ years) in welding procedure development, documentation, and compliance.
In-depth knowledge of welding techniques and industry standards (ASME, AWS, EN, ISO).
Familiarity with WPS, WPQR, and PQR documentation processes.
Experience working with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines.
Proficiency in QA/QC documentation tools and software.
