Welding Engineer

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Weld Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR) to meet project requirements and industry codes.
• Oversee and maintain inspection records for all welded assemblies, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Ensure welding processes and procedures comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, EN, ISO).
• Collaborate with the QA/QC team to ensure proper inspection, testing, and certification of welds.
• Provide technical guidance to the welding team, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and specifications.
• Monitor welding processes, conduct audits, and identify areas for process improvement to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Support project teams by addressing welding-related challenges and providing expert advice on materials, techniques, and procedures.
• Stay current with welding technologies, codes, and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in welding procedure development, documentation, and compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of welding techniques and industry standards (ASME, AWS, EN, ISO).
• Familiarity with WPS, WPQR, and PQR documentation processes.
• Experience working with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and disciplines.
• Proficiency in QA/QC documentation tools and software.
