Structural Design Engineer

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• This role focuses on:
• Producing detailed fabrication drawings
• Supporting 3D modeling efforts
• Contributing to process, product, and team development
• You will start with AutoCAD-based drafting, with a clear progression toward 3D modeling (Tekla Structures).
• Key Responsibilities
• Design and draft complex oil & gas equipment, including:
  • Fired heaters
  • Boilers
  • Heavy steel structures
• Produce:
  • General arrangement drawings
  • Fabrication drawings
  • Erection and demolition drawings
• Collaborate with:
  • Sales
  • Project management
  • Process engineering
  • External manufacturers and clients
• Develop and improve design standards and processes
• Support 3D modeling activities (Autocad and Tekla Structures)
• Participate in field work when required:
  • Equipment surveys
  • Measurements
  • Retrofit design solutions
• Assist customers with technical/product-related questions

Requirements

• Must-Have Requirements:
• Associate degree or equivalent in a relevant field
• 3+ years of design/drafting experience in a similar industry
• Strong experience with AutoCAD (fabrication drawings)
• Experience with heavy steel structure drafting
• Heat transfer or combustion equipment
• Knowledge of:
• ASME, AWS, ASTM, AISC standards
• Industry materials, tolerances, and codes
• Ability to:
• Work independently and in small teams
• Review and check design work
• Nice-to-Have / Preferred Experience
• Oil & gas industry experience
• Experience with fired heaters or similar equipment
• 3D design tools:
• Tekla Structures (preferred)
• SolidWorks
• Experience in:
  • Heat transfer or combustion equipment
  • Construction management
  • FEA / CFD / structural engineering
