Implement HSE procedures and standards in compliance with applicable laws, Health and Safety Documentation, and Environmental Management Manual.
Ensure collaboration with HSE colleagues in both the preparation phase (through verification and approval of Method Statements and Job Safety Analysis) and during execution.
Verify that subcontractors work safely and in accordance with approved Method Statements and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
Ensure all work permits are obtained before starting activities and confirm compliance with permit conditions.
Conduct work scope evaluations, area condition assessments, and equipment inspections before initiating site activities. Ensure hazards and control measures are effectively communicated to subcontractor field supervisors.
Be present in the field and instruct foremen/subcontractors on how to properly conduct Pre-Task Talks (PTT).
Maintain high housekeeping standards in assigned areas and report any unsafe work procedures to the Safety Supervisor.
Proactively identify and correct unsafe acts, behaviors, and conditions in the field.
Ensure that subcontractor supervisors and foremen train their teams according to project safety requirements and that all employees actively engage in the project safety program.
Participate in subcontractor toolbox talks and monitor crew attendance.
Report all unsafe acts, behaviors, and conditions to Construction Supervision and Subcontractor Management.
Participate in and assist with incident investigations when required.
Requirements
Coordinate with other discipline supervisors working in the area to manage activities and avoid conflicts.
Organize daily work in close collaboration with the Construction Manager/Structural Superintendent, maintaining detailed work records and ensuring continuity of activities.
Verify that materials used for steel structures comply with project specifications, technical documents, codes, and standards and that stock levels are sufficient to maintain the work schedule.
Monitor subcontractor productivity, ensuring work is carried out to required quality and efficiency standards in collaboration with Project Control.
Ensure that all assigned activities are completed on time. If delays occur, assess deficiencies and work with the Construction Manager to define and implement corrective actions.
Review and discuss any modifications or discrepancies with the Construction Manager/Structural Superintendent and Field Project Engineer. Assist in issuing Sketch Layouts (SKL) when field modifications are necessary.
Identify possible improvements during execution and support the Field Project Engineer in addressing subcontractor queries.
Document all approved modifications and notify the Subcontract Administrator of any contractual changes.
Prepare and submit Request of Work Execution (R.W.E.) forms for any additional work or field modifications outside the contract, following Subcontracting Department procedures.
Ensure subcontractors are working with the latest approved drawings and technical documents (in coordination with the Construction QC Inspector – Structural).
Monitor subcontractor manpower on-site through the Manpower Presence Report in collaboration with Subcontracting Management.
Verify, sign, and collect subcontractor time sheets for reimbursed hourly work.
Prepare and validate subcontractor’s weekly/monthly work progress reports and transmit data to Project Control.
Maintain the daily log record book.
Prevent delays due to missing engineering documents, materials, or work area accessibility by coordinating with Project Control and Field Engineering to avoid subcontractor claims.
Prepare and issue Construction and Final Punch Lists for subcontractors and follow up on the completion of outstanding work.
Oversee field surveying, establish necessary reference benchmarks with subcontractors, and verify correct execution of alignment and elevations.
Ensure subcontractors comply with the approved Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) and that inspections are conducted on time and in accordance with project procedures.
Collaborate with Quality Control (QC) Inspectors during inspections.
Identify potential Non-Conformities (NCRs) in compliance with Quality Assurance Procedures and suggest corrective actions where necessary.
