Senior / Principal Hull Engineer (FEMAP)

As an Engineer in Offshore & Shipbuilding, you play a crucial role in creating safe, sustainable and efficient projects on or offshore. From shipbuilding to floating offshore platforms.

Responsibilities

• As Principal Structural Hull Engineer, you will lead a team of structural engineers and designers responsible for delivering structural analysis, 3D modeling, construction drawings, and construction support for offshore floating units.
• You will manage the structural discipline scope, including budget, schedule, and quality, and interface with project management, procurement, construction teams, classification societies, and subcontractors.
• You will ensure seamless integration with other disciplines such as mooring systems, topside structures, and equipment interfaces.
• Depending on the project, you may also act directly as the principal engineer within your discipline.
• You will contribute throughout all project phases, from concept design to construction, organizing and overseeing key deliverables and supporting continuous improvement through lessons learned and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• You are having a Design/Engineer Hull background in Shipbuilding industry (must);
• You are willing to relocate to Netherlands;
• You hold a BSc or MSc degree (or equivalent professional certification) in Offshore Structures or Naval Architecture, with a specialization in the structural analysis of floating structures.
• You have approximately 10 years of relevant experience (for senior), including at least 3 years in a leadership role (for principal)
• You are skilled in managing teams and coordinating across disciplines, with a solid understanding of classification society rules (ABS, DNV GL, BV, Lloyd’s).
• You bring strong knowledge in hull structural design and analysis, and have hands-on experience with software FEMAP.
• Professional communication in English.
• You are flexible and open to intercontinental travel based on project needs.
