Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• EPCM SPOC: Lead engineer within the I&C discipline who has daily alignment with our EPCM partner to align on the overall plant design whilst ensuring incorporation of Umicore’s standards and common practices.
• Instrumentation & Control Systems: Design, implement, and maintain instrumentation and control systems for industrial applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Network Infrastructure: Oversee the design and implementation of industrial networks, ensuring secure and reliable data transmission across control and safety systems.
• FAS (Fire Alarm Systems): Responsible for the configuration of Fire Alarm Systems, ensuring proper integration with other safety and control systems.
• CCTV & Access Control Systems: Design and implement security systems, including CCTV surveillance and access control, ensuring integration with overall plant safety protocols.
• Siemens DCS Systems: Configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of Siemens DCS systems, ensuring smooth integration with plant-wide control and monitoring infrastructure.
• System Integration & Optimization: Integrate various control systems ( FAS, CCTV, etc.) for seamless operations. Optimize system performance to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all designs, installations, and maintenance practices comply with local, state, global company and international standards. Adress compliance issues with the team and integrate mitigation solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in instrumentation and control systems, industrial networks, and security systems.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with Siemens DCS systems (such as PCS7 ) and associated hardware and software.
• Strong understanding of Fire Alarm Systems (FAS), CCTV, and Access Control technologies, including integration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with SCADA systems and data analysis.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for industrial control systems.
• Fluent in English and Spanish
