Senior Hull Designer

As an Engineer in Offshore & Shipbuilding, you play a crucial role in creating safe, sustainable and efficient projects on or offshore. From shipbuilding to floating offshore platforms.

Responsibilities

• In your role of Senior Designer you are responsible for the 3D-design of FPSO projects.  
• Your contribution is to ensure that knowledge and expertise is maintained and expanded to deliver high-quality and cost-effective designs.
• You will particularly focus on FPSOs but you will also be directly involved in proposals and pre-FEED.

Requirements

• STAR is looking for specialists who can join as of Oktober 2025 (cv review will happen in September only), who have a BSc degree or equivalent (i.e. Professional Certification) in Offshore Structures / Naval Architecture with as specialism knowledge and experience of offshore projects or shipbuilding projects.
• You have at least 10 years of relevant working experience in Shipbuilding / Hull industry. (Fixed Platform or regular O&G is not what we seek)
• In-depth experience and sound technical knowledge of detailed hull naval design in several project phases like conceptual, basic and detailed design.
• Preferably you have experience in Design of floating production units (FSO's, FPSO's, Oil & Gas and Chemical tankers, Drilling Units, Semi's, TLP)
• Preferably you have experience in Engineering & Design and/or Operation of LNG carriers.
• Good knowledge of naval design interfaces with related disciplines i.e. mooring structure integrations, topside Integrations and other equipment integrations.
• You will be responsible for the structural hull design and integrations.
• In depth experience with 3D design software Aveva Marine.
