Senior Construction Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring execution according to design, schedule, and safety standards
• Coordinate contractors managing interfaces between civil, mechanical, electrical, and piping disciplines
• Ensure compliance with QEHS standards, Belgian and EU regulations; conduct audits, enforce safety protocols, and manage permits
• Monitor progress and budget, track costs, manage change orders, and report variances
• Oversee quality assurance, inspections, and compliance with specifications and ISO standards
• Communicate regularly with Engineering, Project Director, and key stakeholders
• Collaborate with Umicore discipline leads, commissioning teams, and site operations

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in civil, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial construction
• Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical or petrochemical projects
• Proven track record managing projects > €100M
• Strong knowledge of construction management principles
• Familiarity with Belgian building codes, Seveso directives, and EU safety standards
• Proficiency in project planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project)
• Experience with piping is a strong asset
