Process & Digitalization Assistant – Power BI & Data Analytics

• Duration: 12–15 months (extension possible)

• STAR is looking for a Process & Digitalization Assistant with a strong focus on Power BI, data analytics, and process digitalization within the Outbound Chartering department of its client.
• The position focuses on improving, standardizing, and digitizing processes and reporting within a complex operational environment.
• The candidate will act as the link between operations, data/IT, and business stakeholders, playing a key role in developing dashboards, KPI structures, data visualization, and digital improvement initiatives.
• Power BI & Data Analytics
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Translate operational data into actionable insights and management information
  • Define and monitor KPIs related to performance, efficiency, reliability, and compliance
  • Analyze trends, deviations, and process data to support decision-making
  • Improve data quality, data structures, and reporting processes
  • Collaborate with IT and data teams on data models and system integrations
  • Work with Databricks and other data platforms within the digital landscape
• Process Improvement & Digitalization
  • Map, review, and optimize existing processes and SOPs
  • Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and automation opportunities
  • Support implementation of new systems and digital solutions
  • Translate operational requirements into technical or digital specifications
  • Support digitalization and automation initiatives from analysis through implementation.

Requirements

• Experience
  • Experience with process improvement, operational excellence, or digital transformation, preferably within shipping, logistics, supply chain, chartering, or industrial operations
  • Experience working closely with operational teams and complex workflows
  • Proven experience leading process improvement or digitalization projects
  • Experience within the maritime sector, chartering, or maritime logistics is considered a strong plus, but not required
• Technical & Digital Skills
  • Strong understanding of process mapping, SOP development, and workflow design
  • Strong analytical and data literacy skills
  • Understanding of digital tools, automation, and AI concepts
  • Ability to work with or understand:
  • Data analytics tools (e.g. advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Databricks)
  • Workflow automation or low-code tools (e.g. Power Automate, Python, or similar)
  • AI-supported tools for analysis or process optimization (both conceptual and practical understanding)
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical or digital solutions

  • VCA Basic certification required
