Life Cycle Well Engineer

As an Engineer in Offshore & Shipbuilding, you play a crucial role in creating safe, sustainable and efficient projects on or offshore. From shipbuilding to floating offshore platforms.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full life cycle of well design and construction throughout the well delivery process for execution by a contracted Jack-Up rig.
• Ensure well designs comply with legislation, industry standards, company standards/manuals, and industry best practices.
• Develop well programs in close cooperation with the Operations Engineer and coordinate rig operations during execution.
• Work closely with subsurface teams, compliance support, and execution teams to deliver safe and efficient operations.
• Support a multi-year drilling campaign including infill opportunities and exploration targets, involving wells with high-pressure reservoirs and extended-reach drilling (~1000m horizontal reservoir penetration).
• Primarily office-based role, requiring regular collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience in new well and sidetrack design.
• Demonstrated track record in office-based execution of well programs.
• Experience in selecting the most economical technologies for well construction.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, both onshore and offshore.
• Ability to work independently across a wide range of tasks.
• Strong communication skills, adaptable to audiences ranging from rig crews to regulators.
• Experience with HPHT operations is an advantage.
• Minimum certification: IWCF Level 4 (or equivalent).
• Work schedule: Office-based, 5 days per week.
• Location: Netherlands (Groningen).
• Expected start date: October 2025.
