Lead Piping Engineer

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment.
• Thorough knowledge of the regulations, codes and standards and a good understanding of onshore and offshore engineering practices applicable to topsides/plant layout and piping design for oil and gas facilities.
• Extensive current design experience is required in piping engineering, piping stress, pipe supports, topsides & onshore plant equipment layouts and detailed piping design, all gained with notable design contractors and/or oil/gas companies within the industry.
• Extensive knowledge of piping materials to guide staff in the preparation of piping, valve and SP Item specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards.
• Experience in greenfield, brownfields & asset services type project/contracts.
• Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the piping discipline, and the basic requirements of other disciplines.
• Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Competent in the use of relevant piping discipline-specific software.
• Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in piping engineering.
• Communicate effectively with the piping engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
• Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 10+ years of oil & gas industry experience (design, EPC, project execution).
• Proven leadership skills to manage multi-discipline teams, ensuring safety, cost, and schedule adherence.
• Experience in large-scale fabrication, 3D modularization, and project coordination.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive leadership approach.
• EU work permit and willingness to travel within Europe and Asia.
• PMC /EPC experience Downstream Projects in Oil & Gas sector.
• Leadership qualities to direct, motivate and organize the team
• Ability to manage multiple discipline Piping Site and back office site team to ensure that the team deliver consistent quality works which will also meet safety, cost, and schedule requirements
