Functional Application Specialist 3DX - CAD PLM Structures (Schiedam)

Responsibilities

• Are you passionate about improving engineering processes through smart, modern software solutions? We are looking for a Functional Application Specialist 3DX – CAD PLM Structures to help further develop and enhance structural engineering functionalities within a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment based on 3DExperience (3DX).
• In this role, you will explore innovative ways to make structural designs smarter, more efficient, and increasingly automated. You will support colleagues in adopting a future-proof, data-driven way of working and contribute to multiple complex engineering projects simultaneously, gaining exposure to all phases of large-scale technical programs.
• Your responsibilities will include:
• Translating structural engineering requirements into functional specifications and innovative system solutions in collaboration with stakeholders and the PLM Architect.
• Maintaining strong relationships with software vendors and partners, while supporting CAD/PLM users in resolving structural design-related system issues.
• Coordinating and executing testing activities for new functionalities and software migrations within DTAP (Development, Test, Acceptance, Production) environments.
• Developing training materials for 3DX users and proactively identifying opportunities for further digitalization and process improvements.
• Advising on and configuring product structures (EBOM/MBOM) and managing parametric parts and libraries.
• Defining and implementing project-specific geometrical reference systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree within shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, or any other relevant study.
• Experience with 3DExperience or any other associative 3D CAD modeler (e.g. Siemens NX, Tekla, PTC Creo, Solidworks), Cadmatic Hull (Legacy) is considered as a pre.
• Programming skills (Python/VBA/Batch) for CAD automation are a plus
• Excellent command of the English language, with proficiency in Dutch being advantageous.
• Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
