Embedded Software Engineer C (m/w/d) Standort Aalen

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded control software for highly precise next generation lithography systems in the semiconductor industry
• Design and implement software for bare metal controllers with a strong focus on professional C development
• Develop and maintain embedded Linux software components depending on the requirements of the respective system
• Translate technical and functional requirements into robust, maintainable and scalable software solutions
• Contribute to software architecture and support technical design decisions for complex embedded systems
• Analyze runtime behavior, system interactions and relevant edge cases to ensure reliable and stable system performance
• Develop and continuously improve test environments and infrastructure for software verification and validation
• Support the definition and implementation of appropriate testing strategies for embedded software components
• Collaborate closely with specialists from software development, electronics, control engineering and system development
• Work within an agile and highly specialized development team and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes

Requirements

• University degree in computer science, electrical engineering, control engineering, mathematics, physics or a comparable technical or scientific discipline
• Several years of recent hands on experience in professional embedded software development using C
• Strong practical experience developing software for bare metal systems and resource constrained embedded controllers
• Sound understanding of low level embedded software concepts, including memory management and hardware related programming
• Practical experience with machine oriented software development, embedded Linux or real time systems
• Experience contributing to software architecture and making technical design decisions within complex software environments
• Strong understanding of software design principles and the ability to derive technical solutions from system requirements, runtime behavior and edge cases
• Experience with software testing, verification and validation in embedded environments
• Python knowledge for test automation and development of test infrastructure is an advantage
• Knowledge of FPGA technologies or VHDL is beneficial
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary development teams
• Very good English skills, German language skills are an advantage
