Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Definition of the project scope, checking feasibility, control the project throughout the process.
• Developping concepts and solutions for complex technical problems in order to realize the project objectives.
• Making cost estimates and project execution plans for projects.
• Directing the external engineering companies, to realize successful projects i.e. a safe, environmentally sound, ergonomic and qualitative design.
• Determination and controling of priorities and project planning in order to fit the projects in the refinery planning.
• Control total cost and expenditure forecast of projects.
• Review of all technical project related documents on compatibility with legislation, procedures, specifications and practices.
• Order all material requiring technical specification, together with the purchasing department
• Communication with all concerned project stakeholder departments to assure a smooth execution and integration of the project.
• Developping by training own knowledge and skins in new technology of electrical engineering discipline and in overall project management.
• Creation and revision of complex technical specifications and participate into related group network meetings.
• Coaching (junior and trainee) project engineers in the execution of their projects and in their personal development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8-10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, preferably in the relevant industry (e.g., oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, manufacturing).
• Proficiency in electrical and instrumentation design and engineering principles.
• Experience with industry standards such as ISA, IEC, NEC, and relevant safety regulations.
• Experience managing projects from concept through commissioning, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Ability to prepare project documentation such as project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and solve complex engineering problems.
• Experience with HAZOP, SIL, and other safety analysis techniques is often required.
• Language: Fluent in Dutch and English, speaking and writing.
