Electrical Engineer

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• As an Electrical Engineer within the Technology department, you will be responsible for the E&I discipline within the project team. This means you will have end-to-end responsibility for the electrical provisions of new installations or modifications to existing installations. You will work independently, supported by the project team as well as other departments and suppliers. Projects will be assigned to you based on your skills and background to ensure the best possible match.
• Designing and implementing the installation;
• Incorporating all stakeholder input into the design;
• Managing an external engineering office for the detailed design phase;
• Conducting technical discussions with suppliers, including preparing technical specifications, requests for quotation, purchase orders, and following up on deliveries;
• Preparing cost estimates and planning in consultation with the project manager;
• Following up on the execution of the works;
• Monitoring scope and budget, and ensuring that timelines are maintained;
• Actively contributing to the selection and implementation of safeguards and reviewing functional descriptions;
• Taking the lead in pre-commissioning tests of the installation during start-up and supporting functional testing.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar role;
• Strong knowledge of electricity, electrical networks, instrumentation, PLC controls, power electronics, industrial communication networks, and PL/SIL;
• Experience with end-to-end responsibility for electrical installations;
• Experience performing cable calculations; knowledge of Caneco is an asset;
• Experience with electrical drawing software is an asset;
• Good knowledge of Dutch.
