As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will utilize process knowledge and operations experience to safely and proficiently operate a pilot plant for process development, scale-up and implementation of key projects.
  • You would schedule, plan, and completing operations related activities including maintaining operation of a pilot plant, performing instructions per test plans, maintaining run sheets, logging data, and troubleshooting process and maintenance issues as they arrive.
  • This role required that you gain proficiency through on-the-job training and experience. You need either deep skills in this discipline or knowledge of a range of processes, procedures, and systems.
  • You also need a broad understanding of the job and know how to apply knowledge and skills to complete assigned tasks.
  • You should understand how your team works with others to accomplish objectives and be able to exchange detailed, complicated information with other team members.
  • It is your responsibility to evaluate analytical or scientific problems in unusual situations and select solutions based on established procedures.
  • You will serve as an informal resource on operational, administrative, data organization, or coordination tasks for less experienced team members with no direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • Your performance will impact the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of your own work and your team’s work. You should be able to modify work practices and processes to achieve results and or improve efficiency.
  • Ensures safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas using strong operating discipline and life critical standards
  • Operates and field checks process equipment, and monitors process conditions, equipment, and control systems
  • Write Safe Work Permits
  • Performs tasks assigned to operations as per Master Task List (e.g. Field checks, equipment preparation, samples, etc.)
  • Uses trouble shooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems.
  • Participates in Root Cause Investigations
  • Uses process knowledge and skills to make improvements in plant performance and Operating discipline, including creating and improving job procedures
  • Performs process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance
  • Supports pilot plant turn arounds as appropriate
  • Completes all assigned training per facility training plan

 

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent local education required.
  • Associates Degree + relevant work experience preferred.
