Responsibilities

  • The Electrical Engineering TA / Lead reports to the Engineering Manager, leads a small team of electrical engineers, and works closely with the Projects, Maintenance, and Operations teams.
  • The Electrical Engineering TA / Lead ensures that the operation, maintenance and configuration of installed electrical equipment is safe, compliant, and optimised.
  • Focus on the long-term operability and maintainability of installed equipment and drive project work to enhance asset performance.
  • The position requires visits to the onshore facilities in Noord Holland and offshore installations in the Dutch North Sea.
  • Accountable for defining the performance standards for all Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements (SECEs), ensuring compliance, and approving deviations in the event of performance standard failure
  • Defines the maintenance requirements for electrical systems and equipment
  • Ensures industry standards and relevant legislation are met or exceeded
  • Keeps up to date with latest changes in legislation and industry standards and ensures that the changes are incorporated in inspection and maintenance programs
  • Takes the lead in resolving non-routine problems related to electrical systems and equipment
  • Performs root cause analyses of system failures
  • Works in collaboration with the Installatie Verantwoordelijke (IV) to ensure: electrical equipment is adequately specified, installed and safe to operate, operational risk assessments adequately consider electrical hazards, government regulators are satisfied compliance is achieved
  • Accountable for maintaining the integrity of electrical documentation
  • Engineering Lead:
  • Coordinates the electrical engineering team, ensuring work is prioritized and progressed with appropriate timing and quality
  • Manages the approved discipline budget and inputs to project planning
  • Provides direction, engineering support or advises on modifications, improvements and new projects
  • Provides field presence during installation and commissioning activities, supervising engineering & installation contractors, offering coaching and assuring quality
  • Independently manages selected electrical-related projects
  • Sets the electrical engineering design standards, including Maintaining the Hazardous Area memorandum, schedule and drawings, Specifying engineering documentation requirements; scopes of work, datasheets, drawings, design calculation methodology, Specifying commissioning protocols, Reviews and approves electrical documents and drawings, created internally or externally
  • Participates in study work, including feasibility, FEED and detailed design
  • Manages third-party engineering vendors
  • Monitors compliance with standards and procedures.
 

Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the Netherlands
  • Living in the Netherlands
  • bachelor’s/master's degree in electrical engineering and at least 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the following fields: Low Voltage and High Voltage systems, Electrical drive systems, Electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres (ATEX) and knowledge of relevant electrical and instrument standards.
  • In this role you'll require both Dutch and English language skills.
  • Client-side experience on operational facilities (onshore or offshore)
  • Hands-on field experience diagnosing and resolving equipment failures
  • Ability to make authoritative technical decisions and clearly justify them to management
  • Strong situational awareness of facility status and operational priorities
  • Effective prioritization and progression of HSE, Operations, and Project-related tasks
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills for developing junior engineers
  • Understanding of engineering contracts, procurement processes, and project procedures
  • Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and measurement techniques, including interpretation of results (e.g. partial discharge testing, insulation resistance, thermography)
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • BOSIET and VCA Vol training
  • Experience with safety-related reviews like HAZOP, SIL
  • Experience with project engineering / project management
  • Full-time position
  • Willingness to travel offshore and to remote sites as required
