Cadmatic Hull Designer / Administrator

As an Engineer in Offshore & Shipbuilding, you play a crucial role in creating safe, sustainable and efficient projects on or offshore. From shipbuilding to floating offshore platforms.

Responsibilities

• For an international engineering company in the energy and offshore sector, we are looking for an experienced Cadmatic Lead Designer / Superuser. The company is currently transitioning from AutoCAD/Rhino to Cadmatic 3D as their primary design platform and is seeking an experienced professional to guide and support this process.
• This position combines hands-on design work with a supporting and mentoring role. You will be the first point of contact for Cadmatic-related questions, ensuring smooth implementation and daily use of the software, while also adapting it to the company’s drawing standards and workflows.
• Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the Cadmatic superuser within the design department.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to colleagues during the transition to Cadmatic.
  • Configure and maintain Cadmatic libraries, templates, and profiles, including the addition of company-specific standards.
  • Ensure design output is consistent with established presentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with external consultants and software suppliers on customizations.
  • Support colleagues by answering technical and workflow-related questions.
  • Contribute to design and consultancy projects, ensuring accuracy and quality of deliverables.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience with Cadmatic 3D Design software.
• Solid background in structural or mechanical design, preferably in offshore, marine, or heavy industry.
• Ability to configure and adapt Cadmatic to company-specific needs (styles, templates, libraries).
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Rhino is a plus.
• Previous experience as a superuser, lead designer, or mentor within a design team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership of the transition process.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Dutch is a plus.
