Lead Engineer Jackets

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Design of concept, basic, and detailed engineering for fixed offshore structures (mainly substructures)
• Perform and oversee structural design analyses and technical studies, including detailed reporting
• Develop designs for: Jackets, monopiles, tripods, transition pieces, piling templates, subsea templates, topsides and gravity base foundations
• Provide technical advice within multidisciplinary project teams
• Support clients with expert consultancy and engineering input
• Interface directly with clients to discuss progress and technical challenges
• Lead a team of structural engineers within assigned projects
• Act as the technical point of contact within the engineering team
• Mentor and support junior and medior engineers
• Monitor progress, deadlines, and deliverables of the structural scope
• Present designs and recommendations in meetings and reviews

Requirements

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering
• 8+ years’ experience in structural discipline and relevant market
• 3+ years’ experience in this or similar position
• Extensive structural engineering experience: Jackets & Monopiles and topsides for the Offshore Wind and Oil & Gas market
• Analyses or calculations: In-place analysis (ULS, FLS, SLS, ALS) & Pre-service analysis (Load-out, Transport, Lifting)
• Detailed analyses or calculations: Bolted connections, Welded connections, Grout connections, Vortex induced vibrations, Wave slamming.
• Proficient user of SACS and familiar / advanced user of Ansys/Femap/Usfos/Grlweap
• Good knowledge of the applicable norms and standards (DNV/ISO/EC)
• Good knowledge of English and preferably also Dutch (both written and verbal)
• Team player and like to solve problems instead of making them
