Team Lead xR

As an Engineer in Offshore & Shipbuilding, you play a crucial role in creating safe, sustainable and efficient projects on or offshore. From shipbuilding to floating offshore platforms.

Responsibilities

• As Team Lead Extended Reality (xR) you are responsible for an extended reality (xR) team in support of research, design, engineering and/or production processes of an (innovative, naval) project.
• Contributes to further development and promotion of the application of xR in projects and for prospects to internal and external stakeholders.
• Responsible for quality, timely delivery and reporting to the (project) management. Deliver training solutions to the customer as part of a bigger project to make sure they are ideally prepared for their service on board.
• As Team Lead xR you will be responsible for:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small to medium-sized international xR team working on special naval projects.
  • Manage team activities, budget, and timelines, ensuring that xR initiatives are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide regular progress reports and relevant project management updates.
  • Oversee the implementation and compliance of xR activities to meet all project requirements and specifications.
  • Act as a Product Owner in the team’s agile workflow, guiding team members in achieving project goals.
  • Communicate and collaborate across departments, with customers, suppliers, and subprojects to ensure xR alignment and integration.
  • Champion the use and adoption of xR solutions both within Damen Naval and in interactions with external stakeholders.
  • Promote continuous learning, improvement, and knowledge sharing within the xR domain.

Requirements

• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with (also) a non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible given the requirements imposed by te military nature of our projects.
• Bachelor or Master degree in business or management, plus at least five years of relevant experience as xR team leader.
• Strong background in xR development, solutions, and applications, with a solid understanding of military and naval contexts.
• Proven experience leading agile teams, with the ability to foster collaboration in cross-cultural settings.
• Proficiency in English and Dutch (German skills are advantageous).
• Key Competencies: customer focus, results-oriented mindset, leadership, flexibility, and strong communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-assignment security screening is part of the recruitment procedure.
• Maximum compensation for this position: From 3.000 to maximum of 6.100 Euro basic gross salary per month based on fulltime (40 hours per week) and excl. vacations allowance etc.
