Senior Process Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

• STAR is looking for a Senior Process Safety Engineer (contractor basis, 1 year extendable contract).
• Responsible that legislative (international and Netherlands) and company HSE requirements are implemented accordingly in investment projects. 
• Consult project team and other stakeholders in process safety and fireproofing issue.
• Facilitate process hazard analyses (e.g. HAZOP, LOPA) and other PHA studies in investment projects.
• Lead and report HSE activities of investment projects and actively communicate HSE related issues to the project organization and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience with Process Safety in engineering or in industry (5+ years).
• Good competence and knowledge of Netherlands process safety standards.
• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Chemical/Process engineering.
• Thorough understanding of process safety, risk management of high hazard chemical process industry.
• Thorough understanding of fire hazards and fireproofing practices in high hazard chemical process industry.
• Extensive experience in facilitating process hazard analysis (e.g. HAZOP, LOPA).
• Ability to organize and lead HSE activities in investment projects
• Fluent English skills, both written and spoken. We also value fluent Dutch skills.
• Previous experience in leading/managing HSE contractors in complex project environments.
• Readiness to travel.
• We also value good competency of consequence analysis modeling.
