Responsibilities

As a Scaffolding Supervisor during a turnaround, you are responsible for the safe and efficient planning, coordination, and oversight of all scaffolding activities on-site. You lead scaffolding teams and contractors to ensure access is provided in accordance with turnaround schedules, safety standards, and technical requirements. Your role is critical in supporting timely execution of mechanical, piping, and inspection tasks throughout the turnaround lifecycle.

  • Supervise and coordinate all scaffolding erection, modification, and dismantling activities during the turnaround.
  • Ensure strict adherence to site safety procedures, scaffold tagging systems, and industry standards (e.g., EN 12811, SG4).
  • Plan scaffold access solutions based on work scope requirements, field conditions, and turnaround priorities.
  • Perform daily field inspections of scaffold structures to verify compliance, integrity, and safe access.
  • Allocate manpower and materials effectively to meet dynamic schedule demands and ensure timely scaffold readiness.
  • Coordinate closely with mechanical, piping, insulation, and inspection teams to align access needs and timing.
  • Track scaffold requests, build status, and manpower utilization using site tools or reporting templates.
  • Ensure scaffolding materials and components are inspected, certified, and stored properly.
  • Participate in daily coordination meetings, safety briefings, and progress reporting.

Requirements

  • Vocational qualification or equivalent practical experience in scaffolding supervision.
  • Proven experience supervising scaffolding work during major turnarounds in industrial, petrochemical, or energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems (e.g., Layher, Cuplok, Tube & Fitting), erection standards, and safe access requirements.
  • Familiarity with scaffold planning software or ability to interpret scaffold design drawings.
  • Experience managing scaffold teams, coordinating with multiple disciplines, and adjusting to shifting site priorities.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • High regard for HSE compliance and experience in permit-to-work systems.
  • EU citizenship is mandatory due to project and legal requirements.
