Project Engineer

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

The Project Engineer is responsible to

• Report directly to the Project Manager and support the Project Manager in the day-to-day execution of the project.
• Deputise for the Project Manager when required and assist with coordination across engineering, construction and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate and drive the handover of systems from construction to commissioning, ensuring alignment with project priorities and schedule.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding punch-list items, ensuring timely resolution ahead of system handover.
• Coordinate the completion and availability of required technical documentation and handover dossiers.
• Work closely with EPC/Execute contractors, vendors and subcontractors to identify and resolve engineering and construction issues.
• Ensure design changes and technical modifications are properly managed, documented and implemented.
• Monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with Project ONE specifications, standards, statutory requirements and stakeholder expectations.
• Identify and help remove technical, documentation and organizational impediments affecting commissioning readiness.
• Support progress monitoring and ensure engineering and construction activities remain aligned with schedule, cost, quality and safety objectives.
• Coordinate document flow between contractors, vendors, licensors, Document Control and the Project Delivery Team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant professional experience in project or construction engineering.
• Proven experience working on large-scale EPC or EPCM projects.
• Strong background within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or related process industries.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary project environment involving engineering, construction and commissioning.
• Familiar with coordinating contractors, vendors and other project stakeholders.
• Good understanding of the different phases of project execution, from engineering through construction to commissioning and handover.
• Comfortable working in a complex, schedule-driven industrial project environment.
