Civil Engineer

Responsibilities

• The Civil Engineer is responsible for the civil discipline, covering maintenance plans, maintenance procedures, compliance requirements and spare parts for civil assets.
• The role also provides civil engineering support during the commissioning and start-up phase of the project and may support utilities-related equipment and infrastructure when required.
• Act as the civil engineering focal point for maintenance preparation within the RDCG project, covering structures, foundations, buildings, concrete works, roads, drainage systems and related civil infrastructure.
• Define, review and validate civil maintenance plans, maintenance procedures and inspection concepts, ensuring they are suitable for long-term operation and site execution.
• Translate civil engineering requirements, design documentation and inspection philosophies into clear and practical maintenance procedures and task definitions.
• Ensure that civil maintenance and inspection strategies, procedures and plans comply with applicable Dutch legislation and regulations, relevant standards, site requirements and corporate compliance frameworks.
• Populate SAP maintenance templates and maintenance plans for the civil discipline.
• Develop and maintain civil maintenance and inspection procedures.
• Support the identification, definition and validation of spare parts, consumables and repair materials required for civil assets and infrastructure.
• Support the preparation, completeness and quality of commissioning, start-up and handover deliverables for civil scope, ensuring readiness for operation and maintenance.
• Provide civil engineering support during commissioning and start-up activities, including inspections, troubleshooting and acceptance of civil works.
• Interface with project engineering, contractors, maintenance, operations and HSE to resolve technical, scope and execution-related issues related to civil works.
• Review and support the closure of punch lists, deficiencies and outstanding items related to civil works before and after handover.
• Support the definition of inspection and integrity requirements for civil structures and infrastructure, including periodic inspections and structural integrity topics.
• Contribute to the standardisation and continuous improvement of civil maintenance procedures, inspection methods, documentation and asset information for handover and long-term maintenance.
• Provide civil engineering input, including maintenance plans

Requirements

• Technical or academic education in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in civil engineering support for maintenance preparation, inspection planning and work preparation for industrial facilities and infrastructure, including compliance with Dutch legislation, regulations and permitting requirements.
• Working knowledge of SAP maintenance modules for civil assets (maintenance plans, task lists and work orders) is a plus
• Strong understanding of civil maintenance and inspection strategies and their translation into maintenance plans, procedures and tasks.
• Experience with commissioning, start-up and handover activities for civil scope in project environments.
• Good professional communication and coordination skills with engineering, contractors and site stakeholders.
• Relevant experience in industrial and project environments (preferably 7+ years).
• Excel / Google Sheets for inspection planning, compliance tracking and handover documentation
• Ability to interpret and apply Dutch civil and construction regulations, standards and inspection requirements in maintenance and project environments
• Strong capability to review technical documentation, inspection reports and contractor deliverables for compliance and quality purposes
