Act as the Mechanical Construction Lead for all mechanical construction activities on a large-scale data center project. Monitor and report on the contractor’s execution of mechanical systems—including piping, HVAC, and BMS—to ensure compliance with design, quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
Monitor contractor’s execution of mechanical works against approved design, specifications, and project schedule.
Verify adherence to client requirements, local regulations, and HSE standards.
Review and comment on technical submittals, RFIs, and method statements for compliance and constructability.
Participate in design reviews and ensure alignment with site conditions and project objectives.
Coordinate with other discipline leads (civil, electrical, architectural) to manage interfaces and avoid scope gaps.
Support resolution of technical and logistical issues in collaboration with the contractor and client teams.
Conduct site inspections and audits to verify quality of mechanical installations.
Track NCRs, participate in risk reviews, and escalate issues promptly to project leadership.
Ensure contractor’s RAMS and LMRA processes are implemented and followed for all mechanical works.
Audit site activities for compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Maintain accurate records of progress, risks, and issues.
Provide regular reports and dashboards to the client and project leadership.
Validate installed mechanical systems during testing and commissioning phases.
Ensure readiness for handover and compliance with documentation requirements.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Proven experience in PMC or client-representative roles on large-scale construction projects (data center experience preferred).
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including piping, HVAC, and BMS.
Ability to monitor and influence contractor performance without direct execution responsibility.
Familiarity with HSE standards, QA/QC processes, and risk management.
Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
