Responsibilities

  • As part of a multi-disciplinary project team, the Static & Rotating Equipment Engineer reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for the correct design and installation of all machinery equipment in the Work, from initial concept design until final commissioning and hand-over of the facility.
  • This person shall demonstrate initiative within his area of responsibility and work with a minimum of supervision, maintaining focus on safety, sustainability, quality and reliability at all times.
  • Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Act as focal point for all rotating equipment, static equipment and piping related matters towards the Contractor(s) and/or external parties;
  • Define the Owner’s requirements with respect to the Machinery Directive and ensure correct and timely implementation of same by Contractor(s);
  • Review Contractor’s design and ensure compliance with the technical requirements of the Contract (Work scope, Owner’s specifications, Codes & Standards, etc.);
  • Monitor Contractor(s) performance, evaluate potential changes and advise on their significance;
  • Participate in design reviews;
  • Participate in inspections of the mechanical packages at vendor location and on site.
  • Monitor the timely resolution of any pending technical matters.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineer (M.Sc.), with 15 years of overall experience and min. 5 years of cryogenic equipment experience, having a track record of at least one lead engineering role on project of similar nature;
  • In-depth knowledge of cryogenic systems, such as LP/HP pumps, boil-off gas compressors, vaporizers, loading arms, etc. included in the Work;
  • Familiar with all applicable international Codes & Standards and European Directives;
  • Team-player with excellent communication skills and ability to write technical reports;
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with others.
  • Fluent in English language (written and verbal). Ability to communicate in German is considered an advantage.
  • Work location is Brunsbüttel, Germany. Around 40% travel expected worldwide for inspections at vendor sites (first 3 - 6 month) and later mainly on site in Brunsbüttel.
