Mechanical Designer

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical installations from conceptual phase through to detailed engineering
• Integrate input from stakeholders such as project teams, maintenance, production and safety
• Prepare 2D and 3D technical drawings in accordance with applicable standards and specifications
• Present and explain designs during technical meetings and adjust designs based on feedback
• Prepare technical specifications for RFQs, purchasing of equipment, materials and services
• Conduct technical discussions with suppliers and contractors
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness and compliance with project requirements
• Prepare cost estimates in close cooperation with the project manager
• Produce execution drawings and follow up works on site
• Support and adjust designs based on site execution feedback
• Document management: timely delivery of as-built documentation for correct archiving

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (mechanical or electromechanical) or equivalent experience
• 4yrs’ experience with industrial installations, from a design and/or maintenance perspective
• Strong affinity with brownfield industrial environments
• Experience with 2D and 3D design tools
• Experience with Creo Modelling and AutoCAD is a strong asset
• Basic knowledge of SAP and SharePoint is a plus
• Solid working knowledge of MS Office
• Able to work independently and technically substantiate design choices
