Senior Structural Designer

As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering design solutions that meet high standards for safety, reliability, and sustainability within complex offshore or energy infrastructure projects.
• Select appropriate design methods, procedures, and technical approaches in alignment with applicable project specifications, international codes, and industry regulations.
• Produce clear and accurate technical drawings and 3D models using advanced design software (including E3D), ensuring designs are correctly interpreted and executable by engineering, fabrication, and construction teams.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, other designers, and lead designers to ensure design intent is fully understood, maintain alignment across disciplines, and resolve design clashes or inconsistencies.
• Plan, prioritize, and deliver assigned design activities and deliverables within agreed project timelines, ensuring proper consideration of system interfaces and downstream impacts.
• Identify, document, and escalate technical or schedule-related issues to lead designers or engineers to mitigate delays and maintain project continuity.
• Apply lessons learned and ensure changes are properly assessed for impact across interfacing systems and project boundaries.
• Coordinate with package engineers to review vendor documentation in a timely manner, ensuring technically accurate and high-quality comments are provided.
• Take ownership of assigned scope and contribute to or lead design workstreams, including providing guidance to junior designers where applicable.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience within the Oil & Gas or offshore engineering industry.
• Proven hands-on experience with AVEVA E3D (3D detailed design and modelling is mandatory).
• Strong background in detailed design, including offshore structures, topsides, and/or plant layout (FPSO experience is an advantage).
• Familiarity with engineering design and calculation tools, package engineering processes, and manufacturing interfaces.
• Ability to interpret and apply international codes, industry standards, and safety/environmental regulations.
• Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills with a proactive and structured working approach.
• Knowledge of safety and human factors engineering principles is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced project environment.
