As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Translate client requirements into a technical design for equipment, piping, and mechanical components of an installation.
  • Execute conceptual designs and basic engineering in projects (lay-out, design, calculations, specify and select specific complex equipment, …)
  • Investigate and propose a range of possible technical solutions for specific needs.
  • Provide input for HAZOP risk analyses and ensure the implementation of measures in the design.
  • Participate in procurement activities related to projects (from inquiry, through ordering, FAT and delivery, to completion, SAT and invoicing).
  • Prepare budgets and contribute to planning for your discipline.
  • Discuss the construction file with construction site supervisors regarding project realization and provide technical support during execution and startup of the project.
  • Maintain contacts with internal clients and external partners/contractors.
  • Coordinate and control the quality of internal/external designers during detailed engineering.
  • Archive documents and ensure an as-built technical construction file is maintained.

Requirements

  • Master Degree in Engineering (preferably electromechanics) or equivalent through experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in designing process equipment installations in an industrial environment.
  • Technically-minded and skilled in various calculations (heat and mass balances, pump and pipe design, steel structure, equipment design, …)
  • Excellent knowledge of design and 2D and 3D visualization software such as Autocad. Experience with other software is a plus.
  • Familiar with engineering rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
  • Well organized, structured, disciplined and autonomous
  • Skilled in analyzing, reporting, organizing, and creative in generating technical issues.
  • Self-starter and sense of responsibility
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, team player but also decision maker
  • Proficient in using office software packages.
