Responsibilities

  • Currently STAR is seeking a Process Engineer with experience in production of Cacao Butter Equivalent for variety of facilities and projects across Europe.
  • Responsible for development of process engineering design packages and design in compliance with regulatory codes, engineering standards and manufacturing technology specific needs.
  • Coordinate input from engineering disciplines and subject matter experts to ensure process design meets specific needs of the business.
  • Identify, document and communicate lessons learned in this field to the appropriate functions.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Preparation of the Process Engineering Deliverables and Documents of the build projects (H&M balance, PFDs, P&IDs, basis of design, etc.) in close collaboration with the Manufacturing Technology Lead and the other Engineering Discipline leads, following the company leading practices and all applicable regulation and international standards
  • Review of the process documents prepared by the ESP, following the company leading practices and all applicable regulation, international standards and identify Design Optimizations and Cost Avoidance Opportunities during Front End Loading (FEL).
  • Collaborate with other discipline leads, ESP process lead to review the documentation content and quality.
  • Participate in projects meetings and reviews
  • Work closely with Build Project Manager, Engineering Service Providers and Engineering Lead, during Front End loading of the project as well as during construction-phase
  • Work and corporate closely with Service Providers, Contractors, Notified bodies and Authorities
  • Contribute to the development of project plans, schedule, costs, estimates and strategies, as well as supporting forecasting activities
  • Lead and contribute to the preparation of bid packages, in collaboration with all engineering disciplines
  • Manage engineering activities during bid evaluation, clarification and negotiation phase.
  • Participating and coordinating process project reviews, such as SWIFT, PRA, HAZOP.
  • Ensuring that design is well aligned with business and site requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • You are based in Germany and in possession of valid working permit
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Fluent English speaking and writing
  • Knowing regulations and requirements for process and environmental permits
  • Significant and proven experience of working as a Process Engineer/ manager with experience in designing of plants producing CBE or be a production manager of such plants
  • Proven experience on working on projects above 1 mln$ from Front-End Loading till start up
  • Be able to demonstrate leading a team of engineers, contractors on complex projects throughout the whole project life-cycle
  • Knowledge of National and International (EMEA) Engineering & Design Standards
  • Demonstrate knowledge on specific safety norms, standards and studies (e.g.: Atex, SIL, HAZOP) in project phases and design
  • Knowledge on Project Delivery Process (PDP) process
  • Have a broad understanding of the major design engineering disciplines
  • Able to work with project tools (WBS, project tracking systems, calculation tools)
  • Able to work with engineering tools for process design
  • Willing to work in an international environment and multicultural teams
  • Willing and able to travel and work in the EMEA regions minimum 50% of the time
  • Computer literate in: MS Office, Navisworks
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Able to develop the Process Basis of Design to include any brownfield, offsites and utility elements at the end of the conceptual design (FEL 2 stage) in preparation to start Basic Engineering or FEED (FEL 3 stage)
  • Able to prepare heat and material balance and to work with process simulation experts to refine the calculation, providing the process input and assessing the accuracy of the simulation results
  • Able to prepare PFDs and P&IDs from a block diagram or a preliminary PFD as input from a process expert, with the help of a draftsman and following the given leading practices.
  • Experience in process risk assessments (HAZOP, HAZID, What If, etc.) as process lead.
  • Experience managing third party resources to deliver business results.
