To define projects scope of work, estimate engineering budgets, and contribute in preparing project schedules.
To do process calculations.
To develop process key documents such as P&ID’s, line lists, process datasheets for equipment and instruments from study to as built phase.
To participate in process and environmental risk assessments.
To give pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up assistance when needed.
To effectively communicate with site personnel and other stakeholders to enhance process design of new modifications and benefit from previous lessons learnt.
To work on several small brownfield projects simultaneously keeping priorities in mind.
To work independently and to be able to provide safe solutions to operational and design issues that comply with schedule and cost limitations.
To actively participate in the project's conceptual design and to be able to compare different design concepts.
To provide relevant process data to other disciplines and assist them in developing their scope of work and key documents.
To perform technical design and ensure successful implementation on complex processes according to defined standards and work methods.
To continuously develop yourself towards Lead Process Design Engineer or Expert position
To proactively collaborate and network inside the organisation.
Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc in Chemical Engineering
Professional experience in process design in the chemical industry (6+ years)
Experience of leading own projects and working independently as a lead process engineer.
At least 2 years of experience in working in brown-field projects in the Netherlands.
Experience of working inside the fence of industrial clients is an advantage.
Fluent English skills, both written and spoken. Preferably command of the Dutch language.
Good communication skills, good time management skills, ability to learn and get acquainted with new technologies, company standards, and tools.
Knowledge and experience of modern modelling and process design tools, e.g. Aspen Plus and SmartPlant P&ID.
Experience with industrial risk analyses, e.g. Hazop, QRA, Fire & Safety
